P resented for auction is the K-Line K691-1152 TCA Pacific Northwest Division's Boeing Add-on Parts Car. This is the add-on car which K-Line made for the TCA's PNWD in 2005. It goes with the previoulsly issued PNWD's Boeing 2 Car Airplane Transport Set. Being somewhat of a Lionel snob, I was skeptical of what the K-Line quality would be on this car even though I was impressed a year earlier with the quality of the original Boeing 2 car set. Not to worry, the quality of this car is every bit as good as Lionel's best efforts and may be better. Even the die-cast metal operating magnetic knuckle couplers have plastic model air hoses hanging down from them. The precision fitting of all the parts has no rival and the construction of even the plastic flatcar bed is substantial. The maroon parts bin on this car seems to be made of die-cast metal because it is quite hefty giving this car a resounding 2.25 lbs in total weight. The finish and detail on this car is excellent.I have owned this car since it was shipped to me by the PNWD in 2005. It had never been out of its K-Line box or its original shipping carton until I inspected it upon initially receiving it and then again today when I removed it to be photographed for this listing. During the 5 years I owned this car it was sealed in it shipping carton in a climate (both temperature and humidity) controlled storage facility. It has never even been displayed although it certainly deserved to. This car and its box would have been rated C-10 and P-10 respectively by most resellers, but because I refuse to use "10" ratings if an item or box is not still factory sealed, I have rated the car C-9 and its box P-9. The K691-1152 car was made by K-Line in 2005 and was never available though any K-Line dealers. The only way you could get one of these cars was to order it through the TCA's PNWD in 2005. The original issue price was $60 per car including shipping. It has been sold out for years. In fact I have never seen this car in new and unrun condition available from any reseller. I have set the BIN on this add-on car at $115 given its rarity (only 500 were made) and its uniqueness (this car is part of a set which has never been made by any manufacturer before).
