K-LINE READY KILOWATT OPERATING VOLTMETER CAR Up for auction is a hard-to-find operating voltmeter car for an O-scale model train. It was made by K-Line, based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. This is their "K-Line Power & Light Company (KP&L)" boxcar that features great graphics of the Ready Kilowatt cartoon character (stock # K7041-8011). It has a true RMS voltmeter inside with a power indicator light on the roof. The car accurately measures voltage available to the train at each point on a layout. Simply place the boxcar on the track and apply power. By moving the car along the track, you can find spots on the layout that have loose connections, dirty track, or need additional power. The car measures about 11 1/2" long, 2 1/4" wide, and 3 5/8" tall. Features include real-life metal detailing, die cast trucks, and operating metal couplers. It comes with its original box and instruction sheet. The original price for this car was $59.95 (price tag still attached). Condition of this K-Line voltmeter car is EXCELLENT with no cracks or broken pieces. It appears unused and has seen very little (if any) track time. The box is in fair shape with some wear and a torn flap that was taped back together. It look greats and would make a fine addition to any train collection.
