Artist Linnea Glatt Title From North to South, East to West Size Asuite of 112 drawings each measuring 9” by 9” Date 2009 Medium Thread & Graphite on sized Mulberry paper Description of Process From North to South, East to West consists of a suite of 112 drawings. The process begins with the wetting and tearing of 9” x 9” pieces of Mulberry paper that are then individually sized with Methyl Cellulose. The drawing begins with mathematical graphite markings. The markings indicate a center, circle, and 1/16” increments in four directions. Four symmetrical lines are then drawn along the 1/16” increments. The lines move through the suite by 1/16” from an outer edge to its opposite edge. The four graphite lines are then stitched with Coats and Clark art. S910, Color 630. The bottom threads are pulled to the front of the drawings and tied off. Each drawing is titled, signed, numbered, and dated on the back.
