Description: This is an Old Postwar #497 Coaling Station made by Lionel in the scale of O/027, And this one actually does operate (both the lift and the dumper) when I touch power directly to the terminals inside the station but SEE BELOW FOR WHY I AM LISTING IT AS JUNK PARTS ONLY OR RESTORATION REQUIRED! But the good part is that I am actually listing many other Lionel items like this if you are interested in owning different ones of them! If so then just !! Condition: Again I did test it by using my Postwar Lionel Transformer and touched (AC) Power directly to the terminals inside and amazingly the lift raises and lowers just fine and even the coal dump (at the bottom of the hopper) tilts down to dump the coal just fine! Which to me is absolutely amazing for the simple fact that you can clearly see how old this one is just by looking at it! Now the thing is though, is that I do not have the controller for it and (obviously) the wires that are left will need replaced entirely. And frankly I think that the rust will need wire brushed a bit and all the gears and everything just cleaned off really good and lubed! So at the very least this would be a good candidate for parts, and at the best I think it would actually be a good candidate to fix up and get it going again with a new controller and wires, and a little elbow grease.
