Another rare set.......the uncataloged 1960 Halloween General set. Again, realizing the need for detail, I must be a purist on this one. Here is what I know. The engine has a chip out of the back corner of the cab, a replaced cowcatcher, some new trim parts. All functions work as they should and the unit has been cleaned and lubricated......it runs very well. The tender is in nice complete shape......the tongue has been replaced. The 1885, blue car, is in good complete shape with nothing broken. The 1886 yellow car has 2 broken steps and a piece of the handrail on the end of the car missing. The 1887 car has new yellow gates on the top and one of the nickel rails beneath is new. All in all, this is a pretty nice representation of this very difficult to find set. I have put a reserve on this set. Also, insured shipping on this set is $20.During the next 4 weeks I will be selling a significant collection of Lionel, Marx, American Flyer and MTH O, O27, S, and Standard gauge prewar, postwar, and modern electric trains and train items. I will also be listing some New, in the box, Hallmark ornaments, Plasticville complete and partial kits and constructed Ameritowne buildings, complete with Miller Engineering lighted signs and lighted interiors. Auctions will begin on Thursday, 11/14, 11/21, 11/28 and 12/5 and will run for 10 days…….so read more
