Lionel 2018 2-6-4 Locomotive 6026W Tender w/boxes, offered by Lionel from1956-59 and 1960-61, although a common locomotive, this one would be fine for the serious collector, it's in pretty nice shape, recently out of a local estate and new to the market. 2018 Locomotive: run fine in forward and reverse, reverse unit works fine, headlight works fine, you can tell this engine has been sitting in the attic for a long time, front pilot is fine, marker lights are fine, body is fine with nothing cracked or broken, cab roof is fine, black color is nice and clean, there are a few nicks and rub marks but they are minor, "2018" number on both sides is crisp and clean, cadmium-plated running gear has the "greenish" look, it's a nice looking piece. 6026W Tender: whistle works fine, nice and strong, body is fine with nothing cracked or broken, all four steps are fine, coupler needs a little help opening up, trucks are fine, rollers show very little use, "Lionel Lines" on both sides is clean and crisp, it's a nice looking piece. Boxes: 2018 box is nice and solid, marked on both sides, one end is still sealed, it's in good shape. 2026W box has all outside and inside flaps, it is missing the flap on one end that would fit around the coupler, the box is also beat up in one corner just a little, includes the original instruction sheet.
