Nice example of a 2026 Early-Made 1948-49! Runs Great! Shell is perfect, numbers not exactly crisp, but easily readable! Both markers present,no breaks,cracks,chips,warps, or dings! Factory Paint, original smoke label as pictured! Smoke is thin but VISIBLE with the THIN HO smoke fluid I use for test purposes! It will improve if you use something formulated for Lionel that is HEAVIER, or pellets! I had another one of these I was going to list first, but even though the smoke element had continuity, the smoke piston was puffing away. I got no smoke! I removed the motor, and after many times around the test track, I found the smoke pot was only warm, not hot! The motors in these are TOO EFFICIENT! I was operating on 6V and screaming around the track at 7V! The element needs around ten volts for good smoke! SOLUTION:Hang a load on it! It will raise operating voltage&smoke good!
