LIONEL #208 SANTA FE ALCO AA UNITS Offered for sale is a very uncommon set of Lionel #208 Santa Fe Alco AA Units which was only produced in 1958 and 1959. These very attractive engines are in Excellent condition and are given a rarity rating of "3" in the TM Rarity Guide, which means that they were regular production items that are gaining in collector popularity and are getting harder to find. They are extremely clean with brilliant colors and crisp markings, and they are definitely one of the most scarce postwar engine sets made by Lionel. They have no breaks, no cracks, no dents, no rust and no warpage. These 52 year old Alco engines are exceptionally nice for their age, and they proudly wear the unique blue, yellow and red paint scheme that the Santa Fe Railroad used on its freight engines. The front coupler strut on the powered A unit is just perfect, with no cracks, no repairs and with no missing plastic. In addition, the powered A unit has no screwhole crack at the back of the cab. The dummy A unit is likewise extremely nice and clean with a perfect, not cracked, front coupler strut, and with no screwhole crack at the back of its cab either. Other than some deterioration and loss of the front nose decals by the Santa Fe insignia, and some yellow paint loss by one of the windows, I can find no flaws whatsoever on either engine!
