This listing is for an original Lionel #214 STD Gauge boxcar. This car was made in the USA of US materials in the period of late 1920's to 1930. The car is complete with all brass plates, ladders, brake wheels and door handles. The brass plates are bright with strong lettering. There is some paint wear and paint chips which is not unusual for a car that is more than 80 years old. Each truck is adorned with 4 nickel journals which dates it before 1930. Lionel changed the journals to copper in 1930 or 1931. The wheels are dirty, but there is no heavy rust. The body and roof is free of dents and rust but there is some paint wear on the roof edges. Sold AS IS and AS PICTURED. There are NO RETURNS for this item. Buyer pays $17.00 for shipping and handling in the lower 48 states. Would make a great Christmas gift!
