Sold on "first-come" basis LIONEL Catalog # 6-21756 6464 OVERSTAMP BOXCAR SET => 2 CAR SET <= These boxcars represent the Conrail take over of the Erie-Lackawanna and the Penn Central Railroads. "As consolidation hit the railroad industry, it was desirable to put into use the resources of the 'Fallen Flag' road as soon as possible, with as little cost as possible. Instead of gathering and repainting all of the new boxcars acquired, the large railroads took to 'overstamping' their names and logos on the existing cars and getting them back in service in short order. Lionel has recreated these cars with the Conrail overstamps to represent their takeovers. Along with their prototypical markings, these cars have all of your favorite features of the 6464 boxcar line." Year of this set: 1998. This item is currently out of production. One prior-owner; the boxcars were never taken out of their wrappings; purchased and stored in original boxes, including the cardboard shipping box from Lionel. No known defects or damage noted. INCLUDES ORIGINAL BOXES (OB): condition P-8++; darn near perfect - we see only one tiny tear on one flap. Includes the original plastic protectors, plastic bags and literature (put in one box box only for this set). Includes the OB for each boxcar which are inside the OB for the set, which is in the original cardboard shipping box. This item will be shipped in that original cardboard shipping box for the set (as shipped from Lionel to dealer). SEE PHOTOS and ask questions before buying.
