Up for bidding is a Postwar Lionel 2331 Virginian FM. This twin motor monster was Manufactured by Lionel for only one year, 1955. This Virginian is in the coveted "Gold" version. A very nice unit. On the cab, all decals are full, complete and display that beautifully aged patina. Both ornamental horns are present and intact. All handrails are present. Relatively clean for their age, they do display a few areas that show the common pitted/flaking/mild rust, I've included a closeup of the railing (pic #10) to show what I tried to describe. I think my description of it makes it sound worse than it is to the eyes(see pic). The usual screw hole cracks that these units are known for are present on this unit (see end pics), one end is a bit worse than the other (see pics). The roof shows a minute nick at the cab end, and a mild (very mild) rub on one of the stacks (see roof pics). These two areas are so minor they might not show up on the pictures. There is an area on the cab near the long end that has what looks to be spots on it, I included a close up of it (see pic ). Unless your viewing it close up, it should go unnoticed, but please check out the picture. The cab shows minor nicks, which are mostly along the the area where the cab meets the frame. As before, these areas are minor but they are there. Check out the pictures and you'll read more
