Up for auction is a rare black GG1 which was supposedly the first run of the Lionel 2332's. What makes this even more desirable is the fact that the rubber stamped keystone on the engine's sides has the red rubber stamped background (photo #8). I have been told that this variation is the rarest of the black engines. The condition is like new, with no defects or scratches noted. The stripes show no wear ,although they are a little on the lighter shade. There is minimal wheel wear. I will let the photos give a better description. The original box is the correct smaller size which would have fit in the 2124W setbox. It also has the Lionel tape which again is indicative of the early box version. The clean insert is included along with the original wrapping paper which is about 80% complete, as well as the instruction sheet and inspection sticker. This engine was bought years ago from a member of the TCA Standards Committee so I have no reservations whatsoever as to the condition or originality of the piece.
