This is a Lionel 252 Crossing Gate from the Postwar Era. The 252 was a mainstay of the Lionel line throughout the 1950s and 60s and a model very similar to it remains in production today. As the train passes, the gate lowers when triggered by a track contactor. The gate also has a light in it that illuminates the red lenses on the gate assembly. This gate has a few nicks and scratches on it, but it works well. The contactor, prop lens shaft, and lamp housing assembly have all been replaced. This item has been serviced and inspected by our authorized Lionel service station. Please see picture for service details. Overall condition is Very Good+. The Trainz SKU for this item is 3180704.
