This is a Lionel 252 Crossing Gate from the Postwar Era. The 252 was a mainstay of the Lionel line throughout the 1950s and 60s and a model very similar to it remains in production today. As the train passes, the gate lowers when triggered by a track contactor (not included). The gate also has a light in it that illuminates the red lenses on the gate assembly. T are a few light scratches on the arm and shows some slight wear, but it is in great operating condition. This item has been inspected and serviced by our authorized Lionel service station.
