This auction is for an original prewar Lionel 295W Commodore Vanderbilt Blue Streak Set in overall Excellent (+) condition with 265E Locomotive, 265TX non-Whistle Tender, 619 Coach, 617 Coach and 618 Observation car. Manufactured in 1936-38, the set was purchased from the 2002 Richard M. Kughn Lionel Factory Auction in Novi, Michigan. The set includes everything you see pictured; no set box, component boxes, or wrapping paper. The locomotive (worked when tested) and cars show modest signs of wear; the paint looks fresh but small paint rubs in a few places; paint masking shows signs of blue over-spray along the white stripe; possibly a production sample. The non-whistle tender grades Good (+); obvious paint wear; color differs slightly from the blue passenger coaches; an obvious mismatch with the rest of the set.
