This is an auction for a Lionel 6-32998 Operating Hobby shop. This particular model was purchased from the estate of the original owner. When we received it, it was in several pieces and not working properly. After much work, I'm happy to say that it works as it should. There are a couple of issues that we will get to next. This model is superbly detailed with operating flourescent lights in the ceiling, Flashing crossbucks on either side of the counter and three operating layouts on the sales floor. There are several people in this busy hobby shop. I guess the economy must have been better! Now for the issues. The motor was burnt out when we received this piece. I purchased a replacement motor from Lionel. After it was installed, I realized the shaft was too long. I cut it off with a dremel tool and the piece fell onto the floor of the building and burned a small mark in the floor. You probably wouldn't notice it if I didn't point it out to you. I suppose a person could be glued over the mark and no one would be the wiser! There are 2 fire hydrants on the sidewalk behind the building. One is for power and it works as it should. The second one was for the switch to turn the layouts on and off. Someone glued it to the base and the wiring is bad inside of it.
