GoodDay, and Welcome to this Auction. Today, we have a set of Lionel 6-5522 O-Gauge Extra-Long Straight Tracks; total of 5 tracks. Used, but in good condition. These extra-long straight tracks are 36 inches long. They were made by Lionel for a short time in 1987, and then quickly discontinued when Lionel discovered that the tracks were not a direct replacement for 4 regular 10 inch long O-gauge tracks. These tracks are for use with the high-rail, O-gauge type track (either Lionel, K-Line or equivalent) as opposed to the low-rail, O-27 gauge type track. While these tracks cannot be used as direct replacements for 4 regular 10 inch long O-gauge tracks, they can still be used for long straight-a-ways, in a yard setting, or on a long siding, where the exact length is not critical. These tracks can also be cut-down to length where an odd-size piece of track is required. These tracks will come complete with three metal track pins per track.
