The original owner of these cars was a collector who purchased duplicates on occasion and rarely, if ever, took the items out of the boxes. Most of what we will be selling this week (1/22/11) and next will be either good condition with no boxes, or less than perfect condition with no boxes. Some will be from the late eighties to mid-nineties, like those we have been selling the past three weeks, and some are significantly older. After that we will begin on the books, magazines, ephemera, Plasticville, etc. The cars were stored in a basement or garage and some of them have a musty smell. (The cars currently being listed have been aired out and do not appear to be musty.) Additional flaws will be listed under Car Condition below. Southern Pacific Illuminated Caboose Original Box : NoCar Condition : Used, working condition. Needs a cleaning -- car lights up, some paint wear at bottom of car. A small portion of the wire is bare -- coupler works, no rear coupler (because it's a caboose.) "Built 1947" in lower right corner of car.
