This is a Lionel 6464-500 Timken Boxcar from 1957-69. The 6464-500 Timken box car was one of only a select few 6464-style box cars having two independant production runs. The excellent graphics with a bright yellow exterior plus realistic markings on this car continue to make it a favorite of collectors and operators. The 6464-500 Timken box car is not an easy car to acquire. Collector quality examples are hard to find as the yellow and white are prone to attracting dirt and smudges from handling. Clean cars with nice graphics remain in demand. It is part of the famous Lionel 6464 series and is unique in being the only car in the series decorated for a company instead of for an actual railroad. This boxcar features sliding doors, plastic trucks, operating knuckle couplers, metal wheels and axles. This is the 1970 version. This car has a couple light nicks along the edges, but is in nice shape and the door guides look good. This item has been inspected and serviced by our authorized Lionel service station.
