This is a Lionel 6465 Sunoco Double Dome Tank Car. The 6465 Sunoco was one of the triumverate of Lionel freight cars that seemed to show up in nearly every train set from 1948 to 1955 [the others being the 6462 NYC Gondola and the 6456 Lehigh Valley Hopper]. This tank car features die-cast metal trucks, die-cast metal operating knuckle couplers, metal wheels and axles. This car has some scratches and rust on the frame, one metal step is missing, and t are a few nicks and scratches on the tank. The decals are a little faded also, but one coupler spring and pin have been replaced. This item has been serviced and inspected by our authorized Lionel service station.
