Up for Auction - A Lionel 726 B erkshire Locomotive and 2426 W Tender Second only to the 773 Hudson is the 726 Berkshire Locomotive. The pictures of the locomotive and tender speak forthemselves. The 726 locomotive is ready for either display or running your layout. It runs like a champ - very quiet as well as if not better than when it came from the factory. The light is nice and bright. Smoke unit makes perfect puffs of smoke. Everything else is as it should be with an engine of this caliber. Just as it came from the factory. All steps, railings, bells, whistles and the flag standards are there. The 2426W tender is is in excellent condition. There is a little paint loss on the nose. All hand rails and steps are in place. All the marker jewels are in place. The locomotive runs smoothly both forward and reverse. Very little power needs to be applied to get it to run. All the nickle -rimmed drive wheels say "Baldwin Disc" just like they should. The E-unit operates as it should. The whistle is loud and strong. Lettering on Cab is a little weak. I am comfortable with a grade of C-7. Please note the rare red brush-plate. The motor in this 726 is one read more
