Here is a Lionel #746 Class J Steam Engine with the matching #746 Tender. This is a nice example of the #746 engine made by Lionel in the late 1950s. The engine has no cracks, breaks, or rust. The wheels and rods show some signs of use and run time. Lights up and runs well in forward and reverse. The number 746 is complete on both sides and still has good color on the stripes. There are a few scuffs, mostly on the top of the engine but still presents well. The #746W Tender is the long strip version. The tender has no cracks or rust but does have a chip in the right front step as can be seen in the pictures. The tender whistle operated when tested. The engine and tender were stored away for many years so a servicing is recommended if you wish to operate them. Both will present even better with a light cleaning prior to use. This engine will display well and will be a nice addition to your collection or layout.
