It is DC powered and willl not work with conventional AC transformers. It also features plastic construction, decorative smoke stack and bell, metal side rods, and metal wheels and axles. T are a few light scratches on the body, but it is in great operating condition. This item has been inspected and serviced by our authorized Lionel service station.
