This listing is for the Lionel #817 Caboose shown in the pics. If familiar with the David Doyle "Catalog of Lionel Trains", this is the #817 Type I listing. The car is complete with all original parts and nothing has been replaced. The latch couplers are dull but have no rust. The brass plates, end railings and nickel journals are bright and shiny. The wheels are fairly clean and there is no rust. The wheels would be a very easy clean-up. The peacock paint is perfect. The dark green roof has a few tiny edge chips. The paint is all original and has never been polished with any cleaners or auto polish. It is all original factory paint. This car is from my personal collection, so it had to be as perfect as possible. This car is in the Collector Category! The car has its original box which has done its job protecting the car over the years. Both box ends are open with no flaps. The box is included with the sale of the car. Though common this caboose is hard to find in this condition! I do combine items to save on shipping. If buying more than one item do NOT pay until you receive an eBay Invoice from me. It will simplify your PayPal payment and I can adjust the shipping charges. There are NO RETURNS for this item. Buyer pays $15.00 for Priority mail shipping and handling.
