Lionel Blue Comet No 400E 400W and Cars 420 421 422Lionel Blue Comet No 400E Locomotive Engine There are a several issues with the engine which will require restoration. I have pictures of these areas in the listing. The engines main frame casting is cracked at the forward portion of the frame. This caused the front boiler plate cover to push outward and it also the main frame to warp some. The engines wheels will need to be replaced because of deterioration The engine does have missing paint/chips and during restoration it would require repainting. There is no binding of the engines motor when the wheels are rotated. The engine is set with nickel trim Appears to be in original unrestored condition Lionel Tender 400W Overall in pretty nice condition There are paint chips/scratches which would require repainting I do not know if the whistle functions Appears to be original unrestored condition Lionel 420 Faye Overall in really good condition There are paint scrapes and chips but no dents The carriage cover removes easily and I pictured the contents inside The opaque plastic window covering has yellowed and is separated at one end away from the window. My client who is consigning these with us unexpectedly passed away late last year. If you go through my completed auctions and look for Standard Gauge trains that we have sold you'll be able to see the feedback we received for restored and non-restored trains. I believe his intentions were to restore this and I'm including some items which may or may not be restoration parts. My apology in advance if they are not for this train since I had to sort through several boxes of loose items.
