Overview: Up for bid is a custom painted and weathered Lionel Rock Island PS-1 box car, 2R. This car has a build date of '52, and has been weathered for the mid 70's (prototype pic ). Here is another one I wanted to do from the moment I found the picture. A quick call to my friend Dan Bigda of Boxcar Services revealed the DF-2 designation for these cars indicated belts, bulkheads, and rails. I installed the newest interior panel I had designed from prototype pics and cut by Banta Model works. I then installed 2 bulkheads and a series of belts in various positions. Some loose and some in tracks. Trying to go for the look of a recently unloaded car with implements strewn about. Finally I re-built the lower sill with Evergreen styrene. The decals were professionally designed and printed by Highball Graphics. The car also includes cut levers, Kadee 805 couplers, and Atlas Bettendorf trucks. Other models not part of auction. Serial Number: 1316 Each car comes with an engraved plate listing serial number.
