You are bidding on a FACTORY NEW Lionel #6-3100 Great Northern 4-8-4 Steam Locomotive and Tender made in 1981. Almost thirty years old and BRAND NEW! This train appears to have never been run and is in original factory wrappings and box! The features of this steamer include: Working headlight Puffing smoke synchronized with drive wheels Smoke deflectors Transformer controlled forward, neutral, reverse Pullmoor motorElectronic Mighty Sound of Steam matching the speed of the train Realistic electronic whistle Highly detailed die-cast metal body MagneTraction Authentic Great Northern markings Tender features die-cast six wheel trucksI am selling this and other Lionel trains for a co-worker whose husband passed away. He was an avid collector, owning more than 700 pristine Lionel and MTH trains. I cannot determine whether this train runs or not, since I dont have the capability to test it. However, as I said, he took the utmost care and pride on all his trains. I would grade this steamer and tender C10 with absolutely no defects visible. I just checked with an earlier edition Lionel pocket price guide and this train listed nine years ago for $630. However, I am starting this no-reserve auction at $99.00. The steamer and tender has been stored in a pet-free, smoke-free environment. Shipping, handling, insurance, delivery confirmation is $22. This includes an outer box, peanuts and other packing materials necessary to ensure this train is delivered to you in perfect condition. I apologize if the rate is high but it will cost $10 just for the outer box alone. Also, the weight of the train will exceed ten pounds and will need to be shipped in a very long, over-sized box.
