Quality work is NEVER an accident, but the result of high intentions and a sincere effort. Having serviced Lionel transformers for almost 30 years for some of the finest Chicago area hobby shops, you are assured of receiving a fully functional transformer, check my feedback! 's another clean quiet noiseless Late/Riveted core KW and is noiseless! Note that this is a very late KW, both coil straps are still intact, besides I glued core to holder to insure it arrives your destination safely! Both rollers were replaced and both roller holders were aligned to a clean coil. Max. voltage output 20.6 indicating that all coil laminations are CLEAN! The power cord also was replaced, all 6 terminal posts were replaced or are tight! The bulb cover was replaced w/later TRANSLUCENT red so it will be easier to spot should the circuit breaker open and even the circuit breaker was replaced. The rectifier disc was replaced w/16amp. diode and has same polarity of whistle/horn signal is better than originally issued by Lionel and will trigger loco sounds better is operating electronic sets! Both sets of switch-shaft contacts were cleaned, the whistle/horn output is STRONG because of diode installed! Paint on base plate is NOT original but needed "freshening-up" due to flaking paint ! Case is free of cracks, nameplate emblem is a nice original and scratch free that I would grade a 9, 10 being new, whistle or switch-shaft handle is late original that is RED instead of the usual orange! The new "crisp" repro box is complete w/insert that would be hard to tell from original, the instruction sheet is a COPY of original! (This will keep your KW clean and "out of harms way" when not in use). This box is avaible seperately! S ome "add-ons" may be required to operate newer electronic circuitry. This transformer was built to operate Lionel trains built prior to 1966. It will operate todays trains too however, some "add-ons" may be required to operate electronic circuitry. If operating newer electronic trains, I suggest installing a "fast blow" fuse in one of the wires to he track to protect sensitive circuit boards in your loco!
