Postwar Lionel “The Milwaukee Road” 2378 F-3 A & B, GM Diesel Electric from 1956 Fresh from a local estate, this is the Post War Lionel “The Milwaukee Road” F-3 units A & B. On the bottom of the B car, it says, “General Motors Type F-3 B Diesel Electric Unit.” Upon doing a little research I have discovered that this set was built only in 1956, so apparently it is rare! These two cars are all original and complete, with nothing touched up. They are both in great condition with wonderful nose and side decals that are 98% complete. The hard gray plastic exterior on both is in great shape, with no chips or cracks, and only a few minor scratches from having been used. There are even 6 clear plastic windows on the front of the engine that are also complete and in great shape. On each side of each car the orange decal says “2378,” “The Milwaukee Road,” and “Built 4-56 by Lionel.” The battery compartment is nice and clean, and all of the wheels and the hitches on each end of both cars, which appear to be made of steel, are also in great shape.
