For sale from my collection is the 1981 Lionel Ontario Northland SD-18 Power / Dummy, 8162 & 8163, one of my favorite Lionel paint schemes of all time. These have been run and displayed on my layout, so they are definitely not in new / mint condition. The 8162 power unit is in excellent condition, runs well and the paint looks great. The 8163 dummy is not quite as good however. You can see some very small scratches in the cab paint in the macro photograph that I have provided. They are greatly enlarged in the photo, but not that noticeable in real life. Other than that the paint is near perfect. Also, when I took these out of the boxes for the first time since the late 80's, I found that the electronic horn was not working. It makes some sounds every once in a while which leads me to believe the circuit board is bad (a $30 replacement part). Therefore I have to rate it Very Good to Very Good +. I am including it for a small additional cost above the value of the 8162 alone. The boxes are a bit shelf worn from the last 30 years and moving around the country a few times, but all flaps, windows and paperwork is intact. I intend to keep my 100% rating on EBAY, so I will accept a return if you really feel I have not represented this item for what it is. I'll split the return shipping cost with you.
