THIS IS A TRAIN HIGHLIGHT FOR EBAY THIS WEEK! LIONEL POST-WAR 2242 NEW HAVEN F-3 A-B UNITS, IN MINT+ CONDITION WITH ORIGINAL BOXES, 1958 CATALOG, AND EXTRA PAPERS! Spectacular matching pair! NEW HAVEN 2242 F-3 A-B Units, in matching fresh from the factory condition! The reason these Mint engines are so special are the awesome roofs, original perfect orange blocking, crisp heat-stamped lettering, and totally un-run engines! AND THE COLORS ON THE SIDES ARE VERY BRIGHT AND BOLD, AND NOT SMEARED FROM FINGER-PRINTS, AS YOU USUALLY FIND THEM! THE SIDES ARE SPECTACULAR BRIGHT-WHITE.The nose lettering is original and 100% intact and the nicest I have seen. **Kindly look at the photos. The sides of the trains are matching and bright-colored. No discoloration when comparing one side of engine to the other. Heat-stamped lettering and numbers are not smeared and are crisp, clear, and original. Fantastic silver roofs that are pristine and matching.****Please look at the photos! AWESOME PAIR OF F-3’s! The “A” unit has a magnificent frame pilot. No rust or corrosion on original horns, ladders or battery cover. A big plus is the original Lionel waxed wrapping paper, WHICH ORIGINALLY CAME IN TWO SEPARATE VARIATIONS, THE “A” UNIT HAD THE LOGO PAPER, AND THE “B” UNIT HAD THE PLAIN STRIPED PAPER.THIS IS THE CORRECT PAPER FOR THIS SET! This set also has the 1958 Lionel Consumer Catalog (grade 10), the original correct dated Instruction sheet, the 1958 “How To Operate Lionel Trains and Accessories” Booklet (which also contains the service station info within), and extremely high-grade boxes with GRADE 9 1/2to 10! All of these are getting harder to find with the trains. Original box 2242-15 is a grade 10. Original box 2242-53 ((bright orange and ivory) is a grade 9 ½ and has all flaps intact, with no writing, and no taping. The 2242-53 original box insert is a grade 9/10. Again, kindly look at the photos of the boxes! The box 2242-53 in this high-grade condition is almost impossible to find! Very valuable! This magnificent high-end New Haven pair is definitely for the display shelf or to build an expensive set. From 1958 and in MINT+ condition, TRAINS ARE TOTALLY UN-RUN!> IT IS GETTING HARDER AND HARDER TO FIND MINT+ 2242 NEW HAVEN F-3 ENGINES WITH SUCH MAGNIFICENT MATCHING COLORS, PERFECT NOSE, PRISTINE ROOFS, AND VERY CRISP HEAT-STAMPED LETTERING! AN EXCEPTIONAL UNRUN MINT SET AND ALL ORIGINAL, WITH EXTREMELY HIGH-GRADE BOXES AND PAPERS! **** Again, kindly look at the photos to see how nice they are!
