This auction is for the Famous Lionel #726 Big BERKSHIRE 2-8-4 STEAM ENGINE ...this is the Heavy , all Metal - 1947-49 Early Postwar Version , With the Lionel big slanted Motor.. this famous Locomotive Features : Nickle-Rimmed Baldwin Disc Drvers and the nice Diecast metal Front AND Rear Trucks...looks to be in Very Good condition .. Shows only minor wear on wheels and contact rollers ....The Paint and Hand rubber-stamped numbers are clear & sharp , with that nice Lionel Satin Black patina , has the movable bell and all Markers and FOUR green Glass Jewels intact...Turned metal Stantions on the Pilot...Full operating Siderods & Valve-gear...this huge Locomotive RUNS perfectly also ...Strong and quiet , both in Fwd. & Reverse , and the position threeE-unit cycles correctly & positively ...Very Clean , NO RUST ! ... Opening Boiler-front shows off the early postwar pill type Smoke unit abd it really puffs up a cloud - will be fully charged when you receive it ! ...Overall an excellent example of this Scarce Lionel Berkshire Engine ...NO Reserve !
