Pleas e have confidence in my 100% honest descriptions and please read the following carefully:NOTE: I am selling the matching Red Comet Passenger Cars AND an Original Red Comet "RED" Type L Transformer in two other, separate auctions on eBay RIGHT NOW, so please see my other auctions. This is an Original, Lionel, Pre-War "O" Gauge No. 264E Streamlined 2-4-2 "Commodore Vanderbilt" Steam Locomotive & 265W Whistle Tender, Produced by the Master Craftsmen at the Lionel Corporation of 28 Sager Place, Irvington, New Jersey, Circa 1936. As you can see, the loco cab casting has a chipped roof corner and another broken spot. Excellent replacement cab castings are available. In addition, I believe that the cab casting has been repainted. I believe there is touch up on the tender body and possibly on the loco boiler. The pilot & trailing trucks are loose from the loco and the motor assembly is also loose. There are some screws and possibly other parts missing, I'm not really sure, so I ask that you take the time to ZOOM IN so you can make up your own mind as to just what we have here. I have not put power to it, so I have no idea if anything works or not, but the drive wheels turn nicely, turning the gears that turn the armature. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE PHOTOS ARE AN INTEGRAL and a VERY IMPORTANT PART OF THIS LISTING. You NEED to "ZOOM IN" and look closely at the photos. What you see is what you get. At any rate, I do SLIGHTLY "PAD" the shipping charges on each shipment, to cover my purchase of cartons, loose fill, tissue paper, packing paper, bubble wrap, packing tape, rubber bands, shipping labels,"FRAGILE" labels, printing cartridges, etc. From what I see others doing, I feel the way I do this, it is really reasonable to ensure that your purchase arrives safe and sound. I DO NOT MAKE MONEY ON SHIPPING or SHIPPING SUPPLIES! 3. I use the "Shipping Calculator" to determine the fairest and most accurate shipping cost. Shipping charges to AK or HI may be higher, please ask. I try to offer buyers at least two shipping choices--MOST OF THE TIME, usually USPS Priority Mail and USPS Parcel Select. I try to stay with USPS, but if an item sells for a very high price, I reserve the right to ship via UPS or FedEx instead, just for insurance purposes. On most of what I feel are the more expensive items I offer, I will INSIST on Priority Mail, ONLY. Lastly, I may make the decision to upgrade your shipping service.
