This Lionel prewar #251 "O" Gauge Locomotive was originally produced in the late 1920's as part of Lionel's electric outline locomotives. It has been lovingly restored to it's former glory using paint formulated to match the "Red, Ivory and Gloss Black" that Lionel used during the era. The body and frame were stripped, primed, painted and kiln-dried. The solid brass trim has been highly polished and lacquered and the nickel trim, couplers and wheels have been polished as well. The loco runs great, forward and reverse. The motor and the headlight housings have been rewired and new bulbs installed. The motor has all original drive wheels and pickup assembly with it's original brass Lionel builder's plate. The 251 is the second largest of the prewar Lionel "O" electrics - only the dual motor 256 is larger. The 251 is almost a foot long and 5" high! Let this baby head end your prewar freight or passenger set. Please e-mail with questions. Thanks for looking!!
