Lionel Prewar, No 517 Standard Gauge illuminated Caboose made by Lionel between 1927 to 1940, re-paint (near original Lionel red – cream colored windows – nice job ), no label is attached to the bottom (lubrication instructions), car is complete (no missing parts – except for 1 light fixture at one end on the caboose – inside light non-standard, end light , original), original brass railings at either end ladder at either end (brass plated, original brass plated number boards 517 and Lionel plate on either side, nickel plated latch type couplers, nickel plated journal boxes, pressed metal standard gauge trucks (trucks appear re-paints – good job), and original cotter pin/washer holds the trucks on to the car. Other than a few small paint chips on one edge of the caboose cupola paint is in excellent condition. I do not see any major negatives. No major surface rust anywhere, – nice clean car – rolls easily on std gauge track- ready to go. Secured shipping for 4 lbs. Insurance option at additional cost. Additional cost for shipment outside the continental US (for shipment outside the US: please e – mail for total). – will combine to save shipping costs on multiple auction wins.
