This Lionel prewar "O" gauge #653 Hopper was originally produced in the early to mid 1930's. This car has been lovingly restored to it's former glory using paint formulated to match the "Stephen Girard and Gloss Black" that Lionel used during the era. It has been stripped, primed, painted and kiln-dried and the nickel trim has been highly polished and/or replated and the nickel wheels. axles and couplers have been polished as well. This car has nickel journals and latch couplers. Please note - this car had a rough life and it's top edge still bears some of those scars. It also has a repro dump bin. Please e-mail with questions, and thanks for looking! I have many other small 800 series on Ebay now. E-mail if you would like more than one item and I can possibly make some sort of "package" deal.
