Lionel prewar scale nyc hudson steam engine, produced in 1937 and loaded with detail. Without a doubt the most iconic engine ever produced by lionel and the most sort after gem of all collections in O gauge. This is is single owner item, when I picked it up it was in a display case with some matchbox cars. The engine itself is in really nice shape, no breaks, no warping of the boiler....VERY IMPORTANT. All original paint and lettering. I see no dents, only some light rubbing along the edge of the running board. Cow catcher appears to be original production as is the front scale coupler. The very tip of the grasp part of the coupler has a chip and the boiler door doesnt snap shut...thats about the only bad things I can say about the engine. I would rate it c7. The tender is the same story all original paint and lettering, perfect straight shell and frame..NO WARPING. This is the 1937 model so there is no pick-up roller but the original tether to power the whistle. The tender has no dents or breaks but does have some scratches on the sides and rates a nice c6. I brought this baby home and put her on the track, she fired up immediately, runs super smooth and strong in both directions, e-unit cycles every time. wonderful looker and runner. I wish I could keep this beauty, the 700e has always been a favorite of mine, would look great read more
