This is a Lionel Prewar 700E 5344 New York Central Full Scale Hudson from 1937. The Prewar 700E 5344 is the most sought after of all the O gauge trains. They were built to scale from 1937-40 . These engines are considered the flagship of any Prewar Collection. This engine is as straight as they come. Everything is original. There is no warpage or deterioration to the engine or tender. Nothing has been bent, broken or replaced. Marker lights are original. The original paint on both the engine and tender is magnificent. There is no crazing. The original graphics on the engine and tender is absolutely beautiful. The engine has been completely serviced . It runs flawlessly in forward, neutral and reverse. Rollers are LN there is hardly a mark on them. Engine appears to be test run only. There is no chipping of the wheels on either the engine or tender. Headlight works. The tender air whistle has the beautiful prewar chime. Tender shows a knuckle coupler on the bottom to show cars we had behind it. We do have the original coupler. The Prewar Scale Hudson 700E was on Merrill Lynch's top investments in the United States for many years and still is today.
