Lionel PreWar Train #89 Flag Pole Silk Original Box Standard or O Gauge 48 StarsThis was a family piece of mine. Never offered on the market until now. Not a reproduction. Never been repaired or re-painted. All original. Spent most of its life in storage. Photos have a tendency to exaggerate the flaws... This piece was my mother's as a child ~ she was born in 1921. Good and sturdy and well balanced. Has vintage age and play wear. Silk flag has a couple of small rips in it. Nice detail. Hook on top to hold string and string tie at base. Color is Ivory. String has been replaced. Black wood finial at top. Lionel produced these flag poles from 1923 to 1934 No major dents, loose paint, cracks or missing or loose pieces. Measures 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" base and 14 1/2" high. Used for Standard or O Scale Tracks Box shows age wear missing one end flap. The other flap is whole, but unattached.
