This is a Lionel, O scale, 027 gauge Rio Grande 8213 dual axle Steam Engine and Tender included in the train set. I believe it is from 1982-1985. It is in very good to excellent condition, maybe better, I do not believe it was used very much if at all. The engine has steel axles and wheels, we bench tested it and it runs great, engine and tender are still in the original plastic bags. The tender has a tumbler on the bottom that sounds like it has pebbles in it, I am sure it makes a neat sound on the track. T are 13 straight track and 9 curve track, all very shiny still. The transformer works. T is a Rio Grande 9077 caboose built 1-76, Great Northern 9339 freight car built 1-79, Nickel Plate Road gondola built 1-73, Union Pacific flat car 9020, with two white barrels for a load, all of these are very nice/excellent, maybe better. T is a railroad crossing kit in a plastic bag that has not been put together, with instruction booklet 1982. T is some Lionel paperwork included not necessarily regarding this particular train set. T is a letter from the Lionel Railroad Club with nice booklet, members signature card and train patch, really neat from 1985. 1984-1985 Lionel service stations papers and a few other papers.
