Her e's another auction by

Lone Star Trains and Collectibles,

San Antonio's Classic Era Train Headquarters!

You are bidding on a very hard to find boxed set from 1963. This was an UNCATALOGUED Super O Promotional Outfit sold exclusively through Sears and Roebuck (for $49.89!). It is really neat because it comes with a BIG transformer as well as a boxed accessory. If you have Schmid's book, Authoritative Guide to Lionel's Promotional Outfit, you'll find this set discussed (and another one pictured) on pages 642-644.

The set came with:

637 Steam engine with smoke (in great shape), boxed 736W whistle tender, excellent, boxed 6500 Beechcraft Bonanza Transport Car, flat withplane. This one is boxed. The flat is excellent, but the plane has some yellowing to it in the white. 6464-900 New York Central Box Car: According to Schmid, this car was substituted in 666 of the 1470 sets (for the more common 6464-725). This car is in excellent shape and is boxed. T IS a price sticker on one end--I am not sure why. I WILL include an unboxed (and unpictured) excellent condition 6464-725 New Haven boxcar to the original bidder, so you will have the best of both subs. 6142-25 Gondola Car unboxed, as it was originally for this set 6112-5 Canister (2), 6512-1 Cherry Picker Car. This car is complete and excellent, but t is no box for it. The original owner who bought it new said he does not ever recall t being a box for this item. 6463-25 Rocket Fuel Car, excellent and boxed 6059-50 Caboose, unboxed, as it came 40-1 Cable reel 452-1 Overhead Gantry Signal 31-60 Bundle of 6 SUPER O curved (2) for a total of 12 32-5 Straight SUPER O track, 3 loose 34-10 1/2 section of SUPER O straight track SW Transformer, 130 watts Boxed. It was only used in four sets in the 1960's. 310-62 Set of 3 billboards 1963 Accessory catalog 1123-40 Instruction Sheet 1-62 Parts Order Form According to Schmid, the low-end cars were usually unboxed. True, with this set, the 6059 caboose and 6142 gondola are unboxed. However, the Rocket car, which Schmid says was unboxed, has its box. Perhaps it was boxed and the Cherry Picker Car wasn't with this particular set. I do not know. The Set box as you can see is in great shape. Please supersize the pictures to see every aspect of it. T are three areas that keep it from being like new: a small lip curl along the edge flap on the top a small "ding" like a miniature doorknob crescent dent on one end near the numbering a diagonal tear from the corner toward the middle on one of the wider sides

Otherwise, the box is really crisp and nice! This box is interesting--it has TWO numbers on it--a Sears type 9884 number, and the 19308 Lionel number, BOTH on the ends.

We have not serviced any car or engine As this is a desirable collectible, I would like to leave that to the next owner, assuming you plan to run it. UPON THE WINNING BIDDER'S REQUEST, I can service the engine and tender...but only after winning the item and making that request.
