Thank you for looking and bidding! This auction is for an all original Lionel LTI Smithsonian #6-18026 NEW YORK CENTRAL HUDSON CLASS Streamlined J3a STEAM LOCOMOTIVE. Original engine Circa 1993. A REAL BEAUTY !!! Very LIMITED EDITION HAND MADE BRASS SCALE MODEL MADE BY GARY KOHS IN KOREA FOR LIONEL. This is a super detailed 2-rail version.

A GORGEOUS, RARELY SEEN EXAMPLE! WOW !!!

This is one of Lionel's best ever ! Made in the early 1990s, this was produced in very limited numbers for the Lionel Smithsonian collection by Gary Kohs the great gauge 1 model producer and importer (Fine Art Models). This is the 308th model to be made----out of 500 total produced. There is a brass plate on the underside of the ashpan and on the wooden case that has the number.

Lionel produced matching cars which are awesome, and made a scale streamlined PRR Pennsylvania Railroad K4s Pacific engine and cars for the Broadway Limited as well.

This is a streamlined engine designed by William Kiefer with famed industrial designer Henry Dreyfus who designed the streamlined casing, cars and interiors for the 20th Century Limited (1938). Notice the Timken roller bearing side rods---these could handle the stresses better, lightweight forged steel.
