Original engine Circa 1990. A REAL BEAUTY !!! LIMITED EDITION HAND MADE BRASS SCALE MODEL MADE BY GARY KOHS IN KOREA FOR LIONEL. This is a 3-rail version. A GORGEOUS, RARELY SEEN EXAMPLE! WOW !!! This is one of Lionel's best ever ! Made in the early 1990s, this was produced in very limited numbers for the Lionel Smithsonian collection by Gary Kohs the great gauge 1 model producer and importer (Fine Art Models). This is the 39th model to be made----out of 750 total produced---VERY EARLY PRODUCTION MODEL!!! There is a brass plate on the underside of the ashpan and on the wooden case that has the number. Lionel produced matching cars which are awesome, and made a scale streamlined PRR Pennsylvania Railroad K4s Pacific engine and cars for the Broadway Limited as well. This is a streamlined engine designed by William Kiefer with famed industrial designer Henry Dreyfus who designed the streamlined casing, cars and interiors for the 20th Century Limited (1938).
