This is a rare 1957 Lionel train set. Included in the set is: -The Lionel Adriatic Type 2-6-4-Locomotive No. 2037 would replace the No. 2026 and No. 2036 in 1953 and would continue in production for another two years. It would be released again from 1957 until 1963. Except for the number, this locomotive is identical to the No. 637 .This locomotive is equipped with Magnetraction, a smoke unit, and a three position directional unit whose control lever protrudes from the top of the boiler right in front of the cab. It did not have the side connecting valve rods, and the number "2037" is heat-stamped on the cab.- Lionel #6026w Tender with whistle. The Lionel Caboose No. 6017 is distinguished from the other cabooses that are numbered " 6017 " by the lack of the word "LINES" that was not printed on the sides. Produced only in 1956 on a Type 3 die, it was shinny unpainted MAROON colored plastic. The chassis has bar-end trucks with one magnetic coupler, and the body is attached to it by screws.This caboose is not as common as the others that share its number. The Lehigh Valley Hopper Car No. 6476-60 is listed in the Production Table as Variation B of the Type V BLACK plastic body that has WHITE lettering. This car was available in 1957 and shows the number "25000" on the sides of the car. Almost all of the 6476 cars are distinguished by the fact that they have operating couplers at both ends of the car, that came with AAR trucks and disc couplers. The Lionel Gondola Car No. 6112 was cataloged between 1956 and 1958. Sometimes found in boxes with suffixes "-1", "-85", and "-135" that have no relevance. The car has a plain undercarriage and interior. It came with bar-end trucks during 1956 and later issues would have AAR trucks with disc couplers. Variation B: BLUE plastic body that usually came with early AAR trucks and three or four WHITE canisters. 1957The Refrigerator Car No. 6482 was the non-operating version of the No. 3482 Automatic Milk Car and was available only in 1957. This 9-1/4 inch car has an unpainted WHITE body with functional doors and has BLACK heat-stamped lettering. The car is numbered "RT6482" to the right of the doors. There is no brake wheel, but it came with steps at the four corners of the chassis and early AAR trucks with operating disc couplers. This car is somewhat hard to find. The Lionel Lines Cattle Car No. 6646 was only available in 1957. This 9-1/4 inch car usually had an unpainted ORANGE body that had BLACK lettering that was applied with a heat-stamp. This car has steps at the four corners of the chassis and came with early AAR trucks that have disc couplers. The Pipe Car No. 6121 was available in 1956 and 1957, and was created on a stamped steel chassis. Early cars would have bar-end trucks with magnetic or tabbed couplers, while later editions have early AAR trucks equipped with disc couplers. The Lionel 1053 Transformer was available from 1956 until 1960. It generated 60 Watts of power and would control one train.
