Lionel #33, All Original, Pre-War Standard Gauge, NYC 0-4-0 Black Electric Engine. Produced from 1913 to 1924. Good C-5- Condition This auction is for a Lionel Pre-War, #33, All Metal, Standard Gauge, Black 0-4-0, New York Central Engine. This Engine is ALL ORIGINAL. See Photo's. The engine has seen lot's of play time from a very lucky little boy many years ago. This is a rare, hard to find, all original #33 engine. I give it a TCA grade of C-5-. The engine is 11 inches long, and has hook couplers. These couplers will couple up to the later combo latch type. T are some surface rust areas, paint chips, scratches and one brass rail is missing, the engine has no dents. All not unusual for an engine this old. The heavy steel driving wheels are in good condition, no breaks, cracks or warping evident. The bass bell and headlight are in great condition. The motor looks great, and spins freely, and when power leads are applied the motor hums, but will not "crank over". The Commutator looks clean, and the Field Magnets look good, but a good cleaning of these parts, plus new or cleaned Brushes will bring this 100 year old engine back to life. It has the e-unit with the reversing bar, all which look good. The headlight socket is fine and all in place, the bulb looks new, but would not light. The cast iron red pilot's and engine steps show
