You are bidding on a Lionel Trains Special Edition Diesel Engine 6-18818. Produced in 1992 for the Lionel Inside Track Railroader club, this item is in excellent condition, with bright paint applications and no wear or markings. It comes complete with its instructions, original display box and original shipping box. Both boxes are in excellent condition with no tears or missing pieces. This item has been modified from its original state. T he reversing E-Unit switch has been relocated and rewired from the bottom to the top of the shell. Just keep the original bottom switch on the on position and rotate the top switch in order to go from allowing your trains to move in forward or reverse to allowing them to move forward only. This added convenience makes it far easier to operate on large, complex layouts with working features and is truly a unique, personalized item. This would make an excellent addition to any train layout. This was part of my Grandfather’s train collection. I don’t know much about these things, but I’ve done some research and have attempted to describe them to the best of my ability. It is possible that he made some alterations that I’m unaware of, so this is being sold as is. If you notice anything in the photos, please inform me and I’ll include it in the description.
