WONDERFUL AMERICAN IMPRESSIONIST OIL PAINTING BY A. GERTRUDE MASTERS (1876 - 1956). Very good condition, oil on canvas board. Vintage frame shows some wear measuring 15" by 12". Canvas measures 12" by 9". Signed lower right: A. G. Masters. Shipping will be $12.50 in the USA.Miss Anna Gertrude Masters (1876 - 1956) was an accomplished painter and a beloved art teacher of thirty-five years at the Haverford School, a Quaker school in Haverford, Pennsylvania, where she was the only woman teaching in the upper classes. She was trained at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and exhibited in 1925 at the Society of Independent Artists in New York City.Like many artists of her time, Masters painted during the summers on Nantucket Island in Massachusetts.
