Here is a charming pair of paintings from the brush of Luigi Cagliani, early 20th century Italian Impressionist. Here is a bit of info on him: Luigi Cagliani was an Italian Impressionist who worked in the first half of the 20th century. Italian sources note that he was active in Lombardy, which helps explain his penchant for lakeside scenes. He also loved to paint scenes set in Venice. Dino Bonari, a critic involved in the Society of Independent Art in Milan, wrote in 1944 that Cagliani’s paintings were “ delicate and moving ,” romantic in almost a 19th century sense. Cagliani’s women, Bonari put it, combine fantasy and solidity. Auction is for the pair of paintings. Great hand-carved frames. Size of each painting is 4" x 5" (approx.) Paintings are oil on wood panel. Note the size is not for the frames but for the paintings only. I will ship for free in the US. If you want them back in Italy cost will be $100 to ship.
