In good condition, 2 two-tone lithographs of sacred shrines from the Holy Land, after the original drawings of David Roberts RA (1796-1864). The pictures are entitled "Greek Chapel of the Holy Sepulchre" and "Shrine of the Nativity, Bethlehem", lithographed by Vincent Brooks, Day & Son, and published by Cassell, Petter & Galpin, of London, in around 1860. The size of the pictures is about 15.0 cm x 22.5 cm with margins of 2 cm or greater. Note that the first picture has a soft diagonal vertical crease on the far left hand side of the paper. David Roberts was renowned as a pre-eminent Orientalist artist in the first half of the 19th century, travelling extensively to North Africa, Egypt and the Holy Land.
