LITTLE IODINE BY HATLO DELL PUBLISHING BOUND VOLUME 12 ISSUES #1-12 No one knows exactly when Little Iodine debuted. She appeared for years inside Jimmy Hatlo's They'll Do It Every Time but it wasn't until 1943 that she got her own strip. The Sunday only strip was enough for newspaper fans, but the mischeivous little tyke had a long life in comics. Dell gave her a spot in their traditional try-out book Four Color and than in 1950 gave her a solo title. They kept the character in print from 1949 until 1962. Few people know that a film version of Iodine was released in 1946. The issues in this bound volume contain individual books from1950-1952. The issues #1 thought #12. Publishers would often create bound volumes of the books they published to use as reference. All 12 issues in this volume are bound inside the cloth-covered hardcover. In order to do this each issue was lightly trimmed. The books are glued inside the binding. Each issue is complete. The covers are bright and highly reflective. Because they have been in storage for so long, some of the inside covers will have light tanning around the edges. The pages are off-white. Occasionally a page will show a hint of light tanning at the edge. This tends to occur on pages that are pressed next to the cover. The cover is light blue and shows light wear.
